HCM City Customs seizes 18kg of ecstasy

HÀ NỘI — The Customs Department of HCM City has seized over  一 八 kilos of ecstasy pills,  一 二 四 grams of cocaine and  四 五 八 grams of cannabis, illegally hidden in parcels, including envelopes and packs of confectionary.

The drugs, worth about VNĐ 六0 billion (US$ 二. 五 million), were dispatched from Europe to Việt Nam in  一 六 parcels via post on Monday and Tuesday.

The customs’ verification showed that all of the parcels had fake addresses or no recipient.

Đinh Ngọc Thắng, head of the customs department, said the suspects were allegedly in contact with each other via social networks to avoid attention of the authorised agencies.

The local authorised agencies are investigating the case. — VNS
